Custom ER16 Collet Chucks

These ER16 collet chucks were custom made for a customer’s drawings.

The longer units are a Jacobs #6 (J6) mount.

The shorter ones are a solid 1/2″ shaft.

All are using a special ER16 mini nut that has the ability to be tightened and taken off via a hex nut. These nuts differ from standard ER16A or ER16 hex nuts in that they allow the customer to use this chuck in a narrow passageway where the standard nut would not fit.

Do you make these yourself in house, or are these outsourced overseas?

Are the surfaces ground or machined?

What tir are you holding?

Thanks

Thank you for asking Scott. We have these small products made for us by a number of different vendors depending on the customer’s need.

There are multiple surfaces on the product. Some are surface ground and some are simply turned. It depends on whether it is a view surface or a working surface, etc.

The TIR depends on the type of device. If it is Jacobs Taper mounted, Morse Taper inserted, motor shaft driven, etc. All those make a difference in how the device is both made and how accurate it can be. Generally, we make drilling devices so the TIR is not as critical as a CNC machining operation, but we always go for the highest quality possible while keeping costs reasonable.

If you have a specific need, please e-mail us at Sales-Drill-HQ.com or call us at 800-871-5022 or 01.908.542.0244 to discuss the project and your needs.

We look forward to serving you however we can.
